Do you have a good story about where you were on July 20, 1969? Well this is your chance to write and be published!
Here is what you need to do: Consider where you were and what you were doing. Include whatever you remember thinking and feeling and tell us how witnessing the first moon landing may have affected your future, personally. (TOO YOUNG TO REMEMBER? No problem. Just interview an older friend or relative and tell us their story.) Write your story and keep it UNDER 500 WORDS. Although not all the stories received will be published, strong consideration will be given to stories that reflect something of the late sixties time period. This is not a message board so we are not looking for input like "Gee, I watched it on TV with my parents and it was so groovey!!!" PUT SOME THOUGHT INTO IT. Use a spell checker and watch your punctuation. This is for posterity! We would like you to SIGN YOUR FULL NAME and add your CURRENT OCCUPATION. Please. Like, John Smith - Teacher, or Elizabeth Jones - Engineer. Since one of the long term goals of this project is to collect material for a book, it would be helpful if you could include a MAILING ADDRESS for future contact. Our PRIVACY POLICY is simple, we will not sell, loan, or otherwise defile your name, mailing address, or e-mail address. Period. Your address will sit in a box on the desk until such time as we may need to contact you. By submitting your story to the web site you agree to have it published here and possibly in a book, without compensation. Your name will be published with your story if you send it. Your story may be edited. All stories will be kept in a permanent historical archive, but only a few will be chosen for inclusion on the website. Those authors will be notified via e-mail. NOTICE: Due to the volume of stories received it may take months for your story to be processed. PUT YOUR STORY IN THE BODY OF AN E-MAIL and send it to editor@wherewereyou.com Thank you very much for participating! Copyright © C.M. Pate 2000 All rights reserved. |
